“Battle for the Capital” Brings Premier College Basketball to DC

By October 9, 2019 No Comments

This November, Events DC is excited to host four Division 1 men’s college basketball teams from around the country as they square off in a new 4-game event called “The Battle for the Capital”. The Battle will bring a clash of high-quality mid-major programs to the Entertainment and Sports Arena on the Friday and Saturday before Thanksgiving (11/22 – 11/23).

Already home to the Capital City Go-Go G League team, Washington Mystics of the WNBA, and the Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Conference Championship tournament in March of 2020, the Entertainment and Sports arena is an ideal home for college basketball events and will provide fans and alumni groups another opportunity to watch premier basketball action in our nation’s capital. Additional activities will include kids’ games, live performances, brand activations and more. The four teams participating in the inaugural event include University of North Carolina-Wilmington, Florida International University, Eastern Kentucky University, and Cleveland State University.

In addition to the two days of doubleheaders held in DC, FIU will play at Cleveland State on 11/19. Come out to join the fun in DC and enjoy the glory of watching college hoops teams as they “Battle for the Capital”!

Tickets start at only $25 for both games each day and are available at Ticketmaster.com.
